Breaking News! Zombie Farm Upgrade
This morning, Playforge published their monthly update for Zombie Farm, and it’s a good one! There are lots of improvements that make this game even more fun to play!
The Blue Gravestone which used to cost 0.99$ can now be purchased with only two brains and the Red Gravestone can also be purchased with four brains only.
The New Tools
The tool section (on the bottom right corner of the screen) now includes:
- a Rotate tool, a common tool in farming games,
- a RIP Gravestone tool, to check each individual zombie’s status, and
- a Farmer Head tool, to allow easy access to new Farmer Heads.
The Rotate tool is a grayish-turquoise button that shows a curved arrow or an arrow forming a near complete circle. Tap the button, then tap an object to rotate it. Tap the object again to rotate it back. Zombies and your Farmer cannot be rotated [I tried
].
The Brownish RIP Gravestone button gives you access to a menu about your zombie team. On the left is a picture of the zombie and it’s name, as well as where it is and how hungry it is. On the top right are three bars depicting the zombie’s stats (Power, Life and Speed) and a section depicting it’s Ability. [The Ability section is currently blank, i.e. Coming Soon, and will probably be ready in September in the next monthly upgrade.]
On the bottom right are two buttons. The Mausoleum button shows a Mausoleum’s effect on a zombie and the Sell button ($) allows you to sell any unwanted zombies without clicking on them in the field.
Farmer Heads now cost 1.99$ each, but now give you new abilities such as more Gold or faster grow time for zombies. New Farmer Heads include Paper Bag Head, Monolith Head and Pumpkin head among others. There are also two new human heads.
The New Invasion
The Invasion has been drastically improved with slightly more strategy that might just help you win in three ways:
- You can now choose your zombies in any order you want.
- The enemies will first attack headless zombies and mutated headless zombies, then attack mutated zombies with heads, and afterward attack the rest of your team.
- The Invasion is now super fast. Even the slowest zombies like Zombumkins of Headless Zombies are as fast as Mini Zombies and girl Zombies used to be when they are very hungry. The new Mini and Girl Zombies are now twice as fast than before as well.
The New and Old Comments to be Addresed
Zombie Farm has made a lot of improvements in the new app upgrade, but there are still some issues to be addressed.
First off, patches of soil still can’t be moved in Zombies Farm like other games. You can always delete the patches and reap the land again, but every time you delete a patch, you lose 10 Gold or more.
It costs 10 Gold to harvest a square of land, and if you have already planted a vegetable or Zombie in it, it amounts to losing more then 20-70 Gold. It’s a real problem since other farming games like Tap Farm can move around soil patches.
Also, Invasions are 2 hours away from one other. So if you do mount an Invasion, you have to wait two hours to mount another one — and that is such a pain. So I propose to either take away that two hour wait for good, or to charge an invasion fee. What I mean by Invasion fee is that the two hour wait is kept but, if you don’t want to wait that long, all you have to do is pay 100 Gold. It’s that simple, no big deal. I would honestly be wiling to pay 100 Gold or Brain to skip the Invasion wait and I suspect so would many other long and dedicated fans of Zombie Farm.
Over all, Zombie Farm continues to be my favorite game on the iPod Touch and is Highly Recommended.
