WordPress on the iPad
Can you use WordPress directly on the iPad to edit your blog? We tried it using the Safari browser. See the results.
To write, we used the virtual keypad to see whether the iPad could be used as a complete platform (i.e. without external keyboard and mouse) for blogging. The layout is different than the keyboard I’m used to, but it is pretty responsive.
A major impediment to blogging in WordPress directly on the iPad is that when we are in the Post page, we cannot find the scrolling side bar for the Post Box. In other words, the size you defined your Post Box is what you’ll see — and have to work with — on the iPad.
Verdict: You cannot blog in WordPress directly on the iPad. The major flaw to overcome is to get the Post Box to scroll. Unless your blog post is only a few lines long, you’ll find it frustratingly inconvenient.
Instead, use the WordPress app for the iPad [though there are some complaints it is also not quite ready].
