Time Magazine iPad Concept
Time shows off its concept of how its magazine might look on an iPad or other tablet. It looks like you’re watching a video or TV news channel.

I’m not sure I like this concept of Time magazine. It’s very interactive and that seems to be the fad these days. However, this particular implementation just seems too much work is required on the reader’s part.
I sit down with a magazine to relax, browse beautiful photography, catch up on the latest news, get detail on a few I am interested in following. But the Time magazine concept just looks tiring. Too many choices, too many decisions to make, too many clicking.
What I would like is to be able to customize my preferences and then let the magazine run through automatically for me for my favorite categories and/or article features. Then, if I still feel up to it, I’ll take over and manually explore other stuff.
The big problem with the iPad (or other tablets) as I see it is that each magazine will have to code its own interface and readers are going to be completely befuddled as to how to browse a magazine.
What is missing is an already built-in high level interface APIs that can simply be used by anyone who wants to bring their paper magazine over to the iPad — without having to invest heavily into Objective-C programmers.
